Lisa began her work as a personal trainer, but decided it was important to pursue reducing muscular compensation and dysfunction in conjunction with athletic training programs. Therefore, she educated herself in postural alignment, biomechanics, and corrective exercise and began working for the Egoscue Clinic of San Jose. With the foundation of athletic training, postural therapy, corrective exercise and spinal decompression, Lisa then opened Aligned Fitness. She specializes in postural analysis and correction of joint alignment and associated pain symptoms. Power, strength, stability & endurance training programs are then integrated with an emphasis on proper body alignment and form. Exercises are prescribed to improve alignment for optimal performance gains. She also provides nutritional guidance and support with an emphasis on holistic wellness.
My ultimate objective with every client is to promote health and restore optimum physical function in order to allow a life free of limitations. My aim is to first and foremost, get my clients aligned, functional, and pain free. Once this foundation is in place, we can strengthen upon a stable frame without injury. Furthermore, we are strengthening optimal alignment and biomechanics, rather than reinforcing muscular imbalances. Every program I create, whether it's to reduce pain or to increase performance, is customized to target each individual’s specific objectives, alignment, and movement patterns. The human body is absolutely remarkable and can accomplish so much more than we dream possible. With consistency, dedication, perseverance, and balance, it is amazing what we can achieve.
Lisa has participated in trail runs ranging from 50 kilometers to 100 miles injury free. She credits this to The Egoscue Method and Foundation Training and her goal is to help others engage in the activities they love safely and pain free. She is both a Western States and Boston Marathon qualifier. She loves to surf, snowboard & spend time at the beach and in the mountains. In her free time she enjoys studying and engaging in any mind / body method that is known to enhance health. She is in her 2nd year of Medical QiGong training and has studied and practiced The Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Chi Running, and has experience in multiple areas of nutrition, mental health, and wellness.
